About David, our MD
We’re more than theory, we’re built on practical hands-on experience over decades of commitment in the market.
You could say that property is in my blood as my parents owned two property businesses, one that assisted Aucklanders in lower socio-economic groups to become homeowners, as well as a separate development business that helped to build over 400 houses in Central and Eastern Auckland. It was here at a young age that I honed my skills in mortgage broking, investing, negotiating, renovating, building, project managing and naturally, selling.
By the age of 19 I had already assisted many families in purchasing their first homes, bought and sold a number of houses myself, as well as worked on a development project.
Fast forward to 2015, after expanding my business skills in the international technology and telecommunications arenas, I joined my mother Jillian Findlay, and stepfather, Keith Ward, who were original joint founders of Harcourts JK Realty in the family business. My role was to further grow and develop their successful residential real estate business.
With the introduction of the unitary plan, the entire Auckland landscape changed overnight. I quickly observed a real gap in the market for matching multiple homeowners with developers. In addition to this, I forged a team of development specialists to support developers in their full project management requirements, from finding the suitable project through to selling the development. And so, Developments Projects Ltd was born in 2020.
We are Development Projects Ltd, a one-stop hub designed to meet the needs of a range of developers in different stages, while supporting homeowners who are interested in being matched with developers for their property sale.

With a robust foundation in sales and an exceptional aptitude for understanding property-related investments, as well as marketing, technology and financial expertise, David Findlay has been active in this industry for over 18 years. David is the Managing Director of Development Projects Ltd, as well as co-owner of Harcourts JK Realty Group.

- 2013 – Harcourts JK Realty Group is born in St Lukes
- 2016 – Harcourts JK Realty expands from St Lukes to Mt Albert
- 2017 – Voted Best Harcourts New Office Design – Harcourts JK Realty, Mt Albert
- 2017 – Harcourts JK Realty assists with a take-over of Harcourts Royal Oak
- 2018 – Harcourts JK Realty takes over Harcourts St Heliers
- 2020 – Launch of Development Projects Ltd. within Harcourts JK Realty
